Where have I been?

Well lets start with SUMMER IS HERE! In Alaska we have learned to take advantage of having sunlight, well, all the time! The warm weather and sun means we spend a lot of time outdoors taking the kids to the lakes and rivers, camping, hiking, making s'mores...!
One of my little sisters is here visiting. Hopefully enjoying her visit, too. Though I think she finds us a little crazy.

Also, for a while I was huge and pregnant and it felt like a chore just walking down the hall! And of course my due date came and went with no baby! Luckily she showed up only 2 days after!

Miss Alissa Faith arrived Memorial day morning weighing only 8 lbs. 5 oz.!

We took Alissa to the beach at birch lake, that was pretty uneventful because she just slept the whole time.
She went on her first hiking trip when she was 2 weeks old. I wonder if she is the youngest person to ever hike in Denali Park? Anyway, she slept through the hike, too.
Not like you can expect a little one to do anything else anyway. LOL. Anyway, our trips lately have been memorable enough for us, just uneventful for her.

So we have been keeping fairly busy... besides enjoying the new baby and the great Alaska outdoors, the other kids have been keeping us busy as well. Madison and Liberty had a dance recital recently. They did very well... Liberty got a little lost, but she was still very cute! Christian has started T-ball. His first game is coming up this week! We have also been continuing storytime at the library, participating in the summer reading program, visiting the gym so mommy can get back in shape, and hitting the farmers market when the schedule permits.

So there you have it...Where we have been and what we have been up to.

Oh wow... a long one...

Story time last Thursday was about dog mushing. The kids had a lot of fun meeting a dog and checking out the sled.

We participated in a scavenger hunt Friday and one of the things we needed was a Halloween greeting card... so I whipped this one up real fast. We had a lot of fun though running around ... I think the greatest was the pictures... We had to wear wigs and take a picture with smokey the bear, play twister in the bowling alley, wear diving fins at the playground... and so much more.

Madison is getting reading glasses. Christian thinks he needs them too... I couldn't help but giggle to myself when he tried on a pair. He looks so much like his daddy...lol

A new place for my craft stuff. I still have a ways to go but this is the start. I actually have an area dedicated to everything now. I started to paint the walls... but then couldn't bear to cover all the kids art. Especially since this is a room of inspiration and nothing inspires me more than my kids. The room is L shaped so on one end I have my cricut, computer, and sewing machine... things I use together a lot. I put all my fabric into the old wood toy chest and got under the bed cases for the kids toys.

The other end of the room is the paper area and a table for me to sit and do my cutting, stamping, and card making... most of the supplies which have been moved into the drawers of the huge case behind the table.

So it may not look like much... but if you look at what I came from...

Lol... yeah... what a mess!!

Fancy Nancy Party

Madison went to a Fancy Nancy Party at the library. They had ice cream, made tiaras, read fancy nancy books and even had the ROTC there so the girls could walk under swords all fancy like! They had so much fun.

Thursday!!

Hubby got up with us today and made us eggs and bacon for breakfast! It was super sweet being as he didn't even get off work until 1am last night!
Did Madison's hair in a head band ponytail thing... another idea swiped from http://cute2tryhairdos.blogspot.com/. I just love her creativity.
Sent her off to school and dashed back to comment on http://www.mypinkstamper.com/! Chance for a free Batman cartridge today! How perfect would that be! Especially since Christian's B-day is coming up and we decided on a Super Hero theme!
Took the little ones to library for story time. Curious George theme today... they made Curious George toilet paper rolls for craft.
We have Girl Scouts tonight and the girls will be making bottle top magnets for their cookie customers... because Cookie Customers are "tops"!

THURSDAY

Busy busy Thursday! So I'm throwing up a post real quick since we have a full day today. I swiped Madison's hairdo from http://cute2tryhairdos.blogspot.com/. Christian and Liberty are going to the library together so they are wearing their matching batman t-shirts... are they cute or what?
